Breaking the Taboo is a 2011 documentary film about the WAR ON DRUGS. This film recounts the history of the war on drugs, beginning with the 1961 Single Convention on Narcotic Drugs and explores the conclusion reached by the Global Commission on Drug Policy in 2011, - which indicates that drug liberalisation is the best approach in dealing with drug policy.

The UK Drug Policy Commission operated between 2007 and 2012.  The objectives were to:

  • Provide independent and objective analysis of UK drug policy;
  • Ensure this was used by UK governments when considering policy, and by the media and public to encourage a wider, informed debate
The Findings
 
Publications include longer research reports, as well as shorter submissions, briefings and articles. All of these are available for free download. The views and conclusions of reports commissioned by UKDPC are those of the authors and not necessarily those of the Commission.
